Hello,

Thanks for visiting me here. I’m Michael J McMorrow, a professional copywriter living in the San Francisco Bay Area — but working everywhere.

I have always enjoyed creative activities like writing and music. When I was a kid, I couldn’t wait to get a guitar! But I also have a serious side — I’m proud of achieving a Project Management Professional (PMP) certification. I also have “certs” in Content Writing and SEO Copywriting.

Born in Worcester, MA, I wore a clip-on tie to Catholic grade school and played hockey on frozen ponds. Early on, we moved to the Bay Area, where nobody played hockey.

Later I earned a degree in History from UC Berkeley and have remained in the Bay, working in both the private and nonprofit sectors. I also worked as a musician, playing guitar and steel drum. 

When I’m not writing, you might find me walking along the Bay with my dog Whisper, bicycling, or playing Brazilian Choro music with friends. I’m obsessed with movies, especially Film Noir and terrible B-movies.

I love copywriting because it lets me match my creative side with my serious side. The project manager in me analyzes the problems, and the creative copywriter part figures out how to communicate the solutions. 

It’s a great feeling to know my writing can help people, whether that’s through engaging your company’s customers or encouraging your organization’s donors.
